Radio Snack Equipment

Radio Snack members can use our equipment. Here are the tools available at Radio Snack.

Some equipment requires training: our events has a list of upcoming training sessions.

Dumpling (3D Printer) Requires Training

Our 3D printer's name is Dumpling (aka Hot Dumps)!

It is a Bambu P1S with optional AMS system. The slicer for it is called BambuStudio, and you can download it yourself, or use BambuStudio on the RadioSnack computers

Specs:

  • Build volume : 256mmx25mmx256mm
  • Nozzle: 0.4 mm Stainless Steel

Supported Filaments:

  • Ideal: PLA, PETG, TPU, PVA, PET, ABS, ASA
  • Capable: PA, PC

About Filament: We use PLA filament because it's less stinky than ABS, and in theory more environmentally friendly. The Bambu P1S printer supports other kinds of filament. If you want to use a different kind of filament, let's talk about it! Our filament costs about $30 per kilo, or $.03/g.

Laser Cutter Requires Training

Our laser cutter is a Glowforge Pro.

Riso Printer Requires Training

Mille Feuille is our riso printer! It is a SF5130U. It can print up to legal sized paper.

Resolution:

  • Scanning Resolution: 600 dpi × 600 dpi
  • Printing: 300 dpi × 600 dpi
  • Quick Master Making mode: 300 dpi × 400 dpi

Maximum Scanning Area:

  • 11 11/16 inches × 17 inches (297 mm × 432 mm)

It has a number of colourful inks, including:

  • Aqua
  • Black
  • Florescent Pink
  • Light lime
  • Sunflower
  • Violet

Drill Press

A drill press for your projects—while this does not require training, we ask you follow safety guidelines posted in the space.

Singer Heavy Duty Sewing Machine

We have a SINGER Heavy Duty 4432 sewing machine!

Specs:

  • Reverse stitching
  • High-speed stitching (1100 stitches/minute!)
  • Extra High Presser Foot Lifter for thick fabrics
  • One-step buttonhole
  • Motor is 60% stronger than a standard sewing machine motor
  • A number of different stitches, with adjustable stitch length

We have a soldering bench! While this does not require training, we ask that you reach out if you need help, and make sure to follow safety instructions while working.
